HOTEL

The Athenaeum enjoys a privileged location in the downtown historical centre of Florence. We are situated within walking distance from the most important monuments, from the principal museums, from the main shopping areas as well as from the fairgrounds and the congress hall.
The museum of the Accademia which houses Michelangelo’s David is just around the corner: we like to say that “David” is our most famous neighbor.

We called the Athenaeum a “Personal Hotel” because it expresses a particular attitude that we have toward the individual guest which is synthesized by personal attention to the needs and desires of each traveler who chooses to stay at our hotel, whether for business purposes or leisure.

The Athenaeum’s style, unique in its kind in Florence and inspired by the elements of contemporary design, is at the same time intrinsically linked to the Tuscan territory. A couple of examples: precious marbles which we used as wall treatments as well as in room decor, fine leathers used in the bedrooms (our headboards for example) and in the public areas (the furnishings). Wood, a very visible element in the Athenaeum, gives a charming sense of warmth to our guests. The hotel is also “furnished” by the use of special lighting techniques: for example a computerized system which allows us to change the color tones in the public areas according to the atmosphere we want create (in different season, different hours of the day or special events and occasions).
